Mini Us

Everyone who sees A says he looks exactly like me as a baby. Well, I can't really disagree. But it was a little chilly out this morning (okay, not MN chilly, but VA chilly!) and so I put a special shirt on A to wear on the morning dog walk.

This made me realize that I've hadn't looked hard at the pictures of Kyle from this age. My awesome sister-in-law made us a wonderful scrapbook for my shower, so I pulled it out and found this one.

But I couldn't stop there...I had to find one of myself too from around this age.

I don't know who he looks more like, but you can certainly find us both in his personality :)

Water fun!

Things have really cooled off here this week but finally realized A would love a spray park! Why haven't we done this before? He had a blast of course. My favorite I his expression in this first one...the water had just come on and he couldn't believe it! I love how excited e gets with new things...I wish I was still like that!

His new hat is a little big and it became so floppy it covered his eyes...

Hat free and splashes galore!

Stay cool everyone!

Our Little Explorer

As our 5 day trip to Acadia National Park with a quick stop through Bangor draws to a close, I have to relish on how great our little explorer has been. As you saw on the last post he had a great time hiking. But we also explored town, saw some boats, went to the Maine Discovery Museum, and just relaxed.

Of course sleep was a bit tricky sometimes, but heck, I don't sleep good in a hotel bed so how can I expect him to?

Blueberries All Around

2 years ago when I was pregnant with A, we decided to take a rather spur of the moment trip to Maine. It was incredible and we vowed to return. Well, we have...this time with A in tow. Last time we flew into Boston and drove up the coast to Kennebunk and on to Portland. But this time we wanted to see what it was like a little farther north, so we flew into Bangor and are staying on Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park. A is a pretty good sport about hiking, so we jump started out first full day with a hike up Gorham Mountain.

Lucky for him, the park ranger was very wrong - there are plenty of blueberries for eating along the way and at the peak!

After all that hard work of picking blueberries, A needed lunch. Luckily we had found some delicious blueberry preserves at the store yesterday, so we enjoyed our PB&J with a view of the ocean, boats, and a hawk or two.

What will the afternoon bring? Lobsters and lighthouses perhaps?

Cousins

Well I'm a little slow in posting this because I had to actually connect my camera to the laptop. Amazing how lazy technology can make us :)

Anyways, we were fortunate to meet the newest Weddle family member last Sunday! He is now 10 days old and we can't wait to watch him grow! We tried todo a little photo shoot with the baby , but for some reason A was not in the mood. At least we got one before he flipped out completely.

Hugs to my newest nephew! And of course, I hope you get some sleep to my brother and sister-in-law :)

Portrait time!

Kyle had a great idea a few months ago...he wanted to get family pictures done by a professional. We looked around some and settled on Aaron Watson photography and couldn't be happier with what we got!

18 months is such a fun age. I'm sure other ages are a lot of fun too, but at 18 months he's not yet talking back, so we wanted to take advantage.

Click on the link below to see the fun Aaron captured :)

Independence Day

What does July 4th mean to you? For A at only 1.5 years old, he doesn't understand what it means of course. But it's never to soon to start instilling him with some red, white and blue pride!

So happy 4th of July everyone, and may you remember what makes America special today and how lucky we are!
